End your summer in style!!! Join us for a celebration of eating, tasting and entertainment all in the Centre of Irelands Foodiest Town.
Savour the Flavour of Donegal Town will take place mostly on the Diamond and several other locations throughout the Town. From Friday 26th – Sunday 28th August 2022.

Long Table Event
We are really excited about our unique 8 course dining experience taking place in a railway car at Donegal Railway Museum on Thursday 25th August 2022.

Appetizer’s and aperitifs will be served at 6.30pm with themed musical entertainment by an all-professional close harmony vintage trio The Swingtime Starlets.
All aboard at 7.00pm, to enjoy an 8-course tasting menu of delicious locally sourced Donegal Food & Drink with services provided by Peter Campbell Catering Donegal, Pretty Baked Bakery, Donegal Craft Bakery, Little Mamma’s, Donegal Farmhouse Cheese, The Weighbridge, Sliabh Liag Distillers, Football Special, Kinnegar Brewing, Dicey Reilly’s and Wines Direct all-in association with The Donegal Food Coast, Donegal Local Enterprise Office.

This unique dining experience is now fully booked, and we are now looking forward to a wonderful evening of Donegal Food & Drink.

Producers Market
Savour The Flavour of Donegal Town opens daily at 10.00am with a Donegal Food Producers Market selling produce, with Tastings. The market is a fusion of speciality stalls You will find home baked goods, Home made Thai and Indian Fusion Pastes, Enjoy the finest oysters and mussels from Donegal’s Lough Foyle, outstanding quality fruits and vegetables grown using only natural, sustainable, and chemical free methods, highest quality baked goods using traditional baking principles, quality dry cured bacon savoury, yummy and moreish. It really is bacon at its best! Irelands only Tuna, Irish Sardines and Mackerel. Handmade Food Pottery. Don’t forget to satisfy your sweet tooth with a choice of old fashion milsean, chocolate, ice cream and candyfloss.

Official Opening
The Official Opening will take place on the Diamond at 7.00pm. The inaugural ceremony will be performed by Minister for Agriculture Charlie Mc Conalouge, MC for the evening will be Donegal Person of the Year and TV3’s Star Mr. Noel Cunningham. Become enchanted with Summertime Live Music from 6.00pm. Award-winning celebrity chef and author Brian McDermott will perform the opening demonstration of the weekend. The opening evening will conclude with a themed choreographed fire show on the Diamond in Donegal Town by In Your Space Circus.

Cookery Demonstrations
Enjoy a gourmet atmosphere using exclusive and unique ingredients from County Donegal Food and Drink producers in live cookery demonstrations on the Diamond by demo MC, Award-winning celebrity chef and author Brian McDermott. Joining him will be Maurice Mc Geehan performance chef with the IRFU and member of the National Chef Advisory Council with Chef Network. We will also have our Local Celebrity Chefs, Anthony Armstrong, An Grianan Hotel, Martin Anderson, Sonder Letterkenny, Chef Influencer Zack Gallagher, The Harbour Restaurant, Chef Team Colin McKee and Chris Mc Menamin Biddy’s O’ Barnes, and Peter Campbell from Peter Campbell Catering Donegal.

Savour The Flavour Festival Food Tour
Join us on a fantastic food tour daily from1.30pm – 4.30pm around Donegal Town specially curated as part of Savour the Flavour Food Festival. On this 3 hour (approx.) guided walking tour you will taste some of the best Donegal produce prepared by some of the most talented chefs, cooks, and bakers in town. Experience Hands on interactive masterclasses and workshops
For the Coffee Lovers Richard Finney The Counter Deli & New Kid Coffee Roastery will give a live coffee demonstration revealing the journey from bean to cup as well as a coffee cupping and brewing demonstration.

Learn about our National vegetable seaweed in a roll your own workshop from Seaweed Champion Dr Prannie Ratigan.

For The Mini Chefs among us Deidre Doyle from the Cool Food School will teach you all about cooking, food education, exploring new flavours and making FOOD FUN!!

Local girl and Committee Member Susan Mc Grory believes the best things in life are sweet and that cupcakes makes everything better! With her easy cupcake decorating skills she will have you believing a balanced diet is having a cupcake in each hand!!! This is just going to be the icing on the (cup) cake!!!

She feels more focus should be placed on food management at all levels and is delighted to be able to use these skills and her passion in the Cherrymore Kids kitchen at Savour the Flavour of Donegal Town.

Your palette will explode with the diverse extensive variety of offers available from our high-quality restaurants, hotels, specialty, and delicatessen outlets. You are guaranteed to be entertained this weekend by live interactive performances on the Diamond. There will be loads of interactive enjoyment facilitated by experience trainers in a Circus Skill Workshop by In your Space Circus. This hour and half long slot commencing at 3.30pm promises to be a wonderful addition to our opening Evening Friday 26th August 2022. Lots of Juggling, Poi Spinning, Plate spinning, Hula hooping, Lots of circus tricks for everyone.

The Queen of Spring Fairies will delight you with her tales, watch everything she touches sprout and bloom.

Enjoy hours of Foody Fun with Fruity N Dishy a juggler and plate spinner from Circus 250. Fruity will juggle real fruit while Dishy spins his plates. Why not have a go yourself at juggling apples, oranges, pears, and spinning plates!!

Phils Farm Mobile Animal Farm will be on site where children can touch and hold the animals to build confidence and awareness, making this an opportunity to learn and interact with animals.

Adults and children can Join the fun and games at the Let’s Play Donegal Outdoor Play Day. Plenty of physical activity promised with parachute games. Enjoy player interaction with some of the ancient giant size board games like Snakes and ladders and Ludo. Slide Giant Jenga blocks out, stack them on top without knocking the tower over. You will need skill, strategy, and a sharp eye for a giant version of the classic tabletop game Connect 4.

Heritage Sites / Nature Walk
Two of Donegal Towns Heritage sites will be opened all day Sunday 28th August with Free admission for all to Donegal Castle and free admission for children to Donegal Railway Museum.
Angus Kennedy from Nature Northwest will have you connecting with Nature along Donegal Town’s Bank Walk on Saturday 27th August at 10.30
